Step 1: Prepare the Tubing

Use a tubing cutter or razor to make a clean, straight cut on the tubing. An uneven cut can create a gap, leading to connection failure.

Step 2: Feed the Tubing through the Coupling Nut

Feed the cut tubing through the top of the coupling nut. Take note of the differences between male and female ferrules.

Step 3: Insert Ferrules

For medium and large tubing (3/8 inch, 1/2 inch, 8 mm, and 12 mm), insert the female ferrule into the cut tubing with the raised collar positioned away from the freshly cut end. Next, insert the male ferrule onto the end of the tube, pushing the tube into the bottom groove of the male ferrule.

For smaller tubing (1/4 inch and 6 mm), insert the single ferrule into the cut tubing with the raised collar positioned away from the freshly cut end.

Step 4: Secure Ferrules and Tubing

For medium and large tubing, firmly press the bottom ferrule onto the tube by pushing it against a hard surface. Ensure the tubing bottoms out for a secure seal. Slide the female ferrule down to mate with the male ferrule.

For smaller tubing, position the single ferrule so that a 1/4 inch of tubing is protruding.

Step 5: Attach Tubing Assembly to the Fitting
